SGX Singapore Opening Market Update

SINGAPORE shares opened higher on Tuesday with the Straits Times Index gaining 11.80 points to 3,309.64.

Volume was 63.4 million shares worth S$108.3 million.

Losers beat gainers 79 to 49.

SGX Singapore Closing Market Update

SINGAPORE shares ended 0.80 per cent lower on Monday with the Straits Times Index slipping 26.55 points to 3,297.84.

Some 1.27 billion shares, valued at S$1.02 billion were traded. 

Gainers numbered 135 while losers numbered 273.

Oil Market Update

Crude-oil futures slipped further in Asian trade Monday and traded near five-year lows, pressured by a strong U.S. dollar and generally bearish market sentiment.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for delivery in January CLF5, -1.08%  traded at $65.09 a barrel at last check, down $0.75 in the Globex electronic session. January Brent crude on London’s ICE Futures exchange LCOF5, -1.43%  fell $0.86 to $68.21 a barrel.
