SINGAPORE share prices opened up on Tuesday with the Straits Times Index up 24.47 points to 3,330.11. Volume was 74.2 million shares worth S$87.5 million. Gainers outnumbered losers 101 to 46.
SINGAPORE shares ended 1.34 per cent lower on Monday with the Straits Times Index slipping 44.86 points to 3,305.64. Some 1.72 billion shares, valued at S$1.27 billion were traded. Gainers numbered 84 while losers numbered 400.
U.S. crude-oil futures spiraled further down in electronic trade late Sunday, with the most-active January 2015 contract CLF5, -2.72% breaking below the $65-a-barrel handle to hit $64.48 during East Asian market hours. Nymex crude’s London-traded rival benchmark, Brent crude LCOF5, -3.58% lost 2.7% to $68.24 a barrel in electronic trade, extending its 3.4% retreat Friday.
